Chairman of the National Assembly (NA) Vuong Dinh Hue emphasized during a meeting with President of the Philippines Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr. in Hanoi on January 30 that there are many opportunities for Vietnam and the Philippines to boost agricultural cooperation.
Chairman Hue expressed delight at the signing of a rice trading agreement between the two countries, considering this as not only a contributor to bilateral trade turnover but also a demonstration of mutual trust and assistance in food security.
The Philippine President said the agreement will contribute to enhancing bilateral cooperation in agriculture and other fields.
The two sides agreed to expand and promote cooperation in new fields such as energy transition, digital transformation, and green energy.
They also agreed to foster parliamentary cooperation, particularly in the building of legal frameworks for bilateral investment and economic and trade ties.
Chairman Hue noted that the NA and the government constantly strive to complete and upgrade laws and policies to ensure a favorable business environment and bolster competitiveness.
