At a recent meeting focused on selecting and proposing a list of strategic technology products for immediate implementation in 2025, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung agreed with the principles and criteria proposed by the Ministry of Science and Technology. These criteria will serve as the foundation for evaluating and selecting which strategic tech products should be prioritized.
In accordance with a directive from Party General Secretary To Lam who also serves as Head of the Central Steering Committee on the Development of Science, Technology, Innovation, and Digital Transformation, Deputy PM Dung proposed a shortlist of one to three strategic technology products to be prioritized for deployment in 2025.
These include: large Vietnamese language models and virtual assistants, AI-powered edge-processing cameras, and autonomous mobile robots; 5G mobile network systems and devices; and blockchain platforms and application layers.
The Ministry of Science and Technology will take the lead, in coordination with relevant ministries and agencies, to review and thoroughly assess the proposed products.
The evaluation will be based on several key criteria: Mastery of core technologies; ownership of relevant technology patents by organizations or enterprises; market demand and competitiveness both domestically and internationally; and readiness for continued development and upgrades to meet international standards.
These assessments will ensure the selection of the most suitable and impactful strategic technology products for focused deployment in 2025.
