Vietnam ranks fifth among the top 10 countries and territories with the largest numbers of TikTok users, according to the latest Digital 2024 Global Overview Report published by We Are Social and Meltwater.

The report also shows that there are more than 5 billion active social media user identities across the globe.

Social media users in Vietnam account for 73.3 per cent of its population.

The latest data indicates that internet adoption continued to grow in 2023, by 1.8 per cent, with 97 million new users taking the global total to 5.35 billion at the beginning of 2024, according to the report.

The typical internet user around the world now spends six hours and 40 minutes online each day, according to the report. The average time in Vietnam is six hours and 18 minutes.
