Vietnam held a sixth-worldwide ranking in electronics manufacturing capacity, as it accounts for 3.6% of global manufacturing capacity for electronic equipment and components, according to data compiled by energy research organisation Ember for 2024-2025.
China leads the global ranking with 58.8%, representing nearly three-fifths of the world’s manufacturing capacity for electronic equipment and components.
Taiwan (China), South Korea and Japan collectively account for another 21.7% of global manufacturing capacity. Together with China, the four economies represent 80.5% of total global capacity.
India ranks fifth, with 3.8% of global manufacturing capacity for electronic equipment and components.
Vietnam’s position reflects the country’s growing role in global electronics supply chains, particularly in manufacturing and assembly. The sector has attracted significant investment from international companies and has become an important contributor to Vietnam’s export-oriented manufacturing industry.
