Vietnam SuperPort™, a joint venture between Singapore’s YCH Group and Vietnam’s T&T Group, has officially launched operations of its Off-Airport Cargo Terminal (OACT) in Phu Tho Province. The announcement was made at the Ministry of Finance headquarters during the Vietnam–Singapore Connectivity Ministerial Meeting, marking a new milestone in collaboration between the two nations.
The event was attended by Mr. Nguyen Van Thang, Vietnam’s Minister of Finance; Dr. Tan See Leng, Singapore’s Minister for Manpower and Minister in charge of Energy, Science and Technology, Ministry of Trade and Industry; Mr. Nguyen Khac Hieu, Vice Chairman of the Phu Tho Provincial People’s Committee; Dr. Robert Yap, Executive Chairman of YCH Group; and Dr. Yap Kwong Weng, CEO of Vietnam SuperPort™. Together, they officiated the activation ceremony to mark the start of OACT operations - a strategic component within Vietnam SuperPort™’s multimodal logistics ecosystem.
Just two days after unveiling its operational strategy at the FIATA World Congress 2025, Vietnam SuperPort™ completed all necessary procedures to bring the OACT into operation on October 10.

According to Dr. Yap Kwong Weng, CEO of Vietnam SuperPort™, “The OACT is a groundbreaking initiative, serving as an ‘extended arm’ of the airport cargo terminal system. Its operation not only completes the multimodal logistics ecosystem of Vietnam SuperPort™ but also helps reduce cargo congestion at major airport terminals by up to 25%, while expanding connectivity between domestic and global markets.”
As one of the first facilities in Vietnam to fully integrate the functions of an off-airport cargo terminal, the OACT offers comprehensive services including customs clearance, security screening, storage, ULD (Unit Load Device) build-up and breakdown, and transport to airports.
At the facility, cargo is processed under a stringent control system from the point of receipt to aircraft dispatch. Built with modern infrastructure that meets international air cargo security standards, the OACT can receive and handle goods from a wide range of companies and carriers, including those serving highly regulated markets such as the United States and Europe.
Strategically located along the Northern Economic Corridor, the OACT connects more than 20 industrial zones with key logistics gateways such as Noi Bai International Airport, Hai Phong Port, and Quang Ninh, extending its reach to Yunnan and Kunming in China. Its position allows the terminal to serve as a key transshipment hub linking Vietnam with the China–ASEAN region and the global air cargo network.
As part of its digital and technological push, the OACT will integrate advanced technologies including AI and robotics. Vietnam SuperPort™ is collaborating with Google and Kyndryl to develop AI-powered systems for enhanced security screening and automated cargo document verification.

With support from Singapore’s Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), the company is also developing Autonomous Guided Vehicles (AGVs), robotic loaders, and Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) to automate warehouse operations — innovations expected to raise productivity by up to 35% while cutting error rates by half.
The OACT will also undergo full digitalization through an integrated logistics platform, allowing businesses to track, manage, and book services online, from customs declarations to electronic payments, paving the way for a fully digitalized air cargo supply chain that connects Vietnam with ASEAN’s intelligent logistics network.
Dr. Robert Yap, Executive Chairman of YCH Group, said: “The official commencement of OACT operations reaffirms the strength and depth of the enduring partnership between Vietnam and Singapore. It reflects our shared strategic foresight, technological collaboration, and common vision to build a smart, sustainable, and connected regional supply chain. This forms a vital foundation for ASEAN to rise as a central player in global trade.”
Spanning 83 hectares in Phu Tho Province, Vietnam SuperPort™ is a multimodal logistics hub jointly developed by YCH Group - Singapore’s leading supply chain solutions provider with nearly 70 years of experience - and Vietnam’s T&T Group, one of the country’s top private conglomerates. The project aims to enhance Vietnam’s global supply chain integration, reduce logistics costs, and boost competitiveness in international trade. With a goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2040, Vietnam SuperPort™ is positioning itself as a leading green and connected logistics hub in Southeast Asia.
