Vietnam the second largest pepper supplier to Taiwan

Vietnam is currently the second largest supplier of pepper to Taiwan, behind Indonesia, according to the latter's International Trade Administration. 

In 2024, Taiwan imported over 2,862 tons of peppers from 17 partners around the world with a total revenue of $18.39 million.

Of which, 958.71 tons, worth $6.09 million, was contributed by Vietnam, accounting for 34.43% of the total volume and 33.12% of the total value.

Indonesia, meanwhile, contributed over 1,460 tons, valued at $9.73 million.

Last year, Vietnam exported 250,600 tons of pepper, earning over $1.3 billion, according to figures from the Vietnam Pepper Association. The US remained the biggest importer of Vietnamese pepper with 72,311 tons, accounting for 28.9% and increasing 33.2% year-on-year.
