The Prime Minister has requested that cities and provinces, relevant ministries, and branches promote land use planning for the 2021-2030 period to meet the demand for land for socio-economic development and ensure its effective use. Land use planning has been slow in the past, leading to conflict and overlaps.

France has donated 670,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine to Vietnam and Hungary 100,000 doses and 100,000 quick test kits. Vietnam is the second country in Asia, after Indonesia, to receive emergency vaccine support from France at this time.

At a working session on removing difficulties and obstacles in the production of Covid-19 vaccines on August 12, the Prime Minister requested that scientists, agencies, and businesses actively participate in technology transfer, research, and production of vaccines so that Vietnam will be able to start producing in September.

Vietnam’s NanoDragon satellite was sent to Japan on August 11 and is expected to be launched before March. The satellite was developed to demonstrate the application of nano-scale satellite technology in integrating an Automatic Identification System (AIS) to track and monitor vessels at sea. It is a product of a Vietnam Space Center development roadmap for “Made in Vietnam” micro-satellites.

In order to prevent the spread of Covid-19, the Ministry of Transport (MoT) has sought to limit the number of flights to and from Hanoi’s Noi Bai International Airport, with there to be fewer than two return flights daily between the capital and Ho Chi Minh City, based on actual demand.

A Non-Disclosure Agreement on technology transfer, production, and distribution relating to the Nanocovax vaccine has been signed between India’s Vekaria Healthcare LLP and Vietnam’s Nanogen Pharmaceutical Biotechnology JSC. This will be the basis for the two sides to discuss specific cooperation on the third phase trial of the expansion, production, and distribution of the vaccine on a large scale when it is licensed for use.
