Vietnam welcomed 17.6 million international visitors in 2024, marking a year-on-year increase of nearly 40%, according to the General Statistics of Vietnam (GSO).
Foreign tourists visiting the country in December reached a record high of 1.75 million in comparison with all the previous months of the year.
The South Korea remained Vietnam's biggest tourist source market in 2024 with 4.5 million visitors, accounting for 25.98% of the total number of foreign arrivals, followed by China with 3.7 million, Taiwan (China) 1.29 million, the US 780,000, Japan 711,000 and India 501,000.
Vietnam targets to welcome 25-28 million foreign tourists in 2025.
