Vietnam's cyber security sector posts 2024 revenue growth of 30%

Vietnam’s cyber security sector recorded turnover of over VND7.17 trillion ($280 million) in 2024, a year-on-year increase of 30%, figures from the Ministry of Information and Communications (MoIC) show.

Relevant agencies at the MoIC detected and handled 8,558 fraudulent websites in 2024.

The ministry has set a target of Vietnam retaining its position as one of the world’s top 30 countries in the Global Cybersecurity Index (GCI) from the International Telecommunication Union in 2025.

The annual growth rate of the cyber security sector is expected to reach 20%.

Vietnam is expected to become a powerhouse in cyber security by 2050.

In 2024, the total revenue of the information and communications sector was estimated at over VND4.2 quadrillion ($164 billion).
