Vietnam’s tra fish exports posted a strong recovery, generating $1.22 billion in revenue in the first seven months of the year, up 11.1% year-on-year, according to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP).

In July alone, export turnover from the product reached $197 million, rising 13% from the same month last year.

China remains the largest importer, with combined shipments to China and Hong Kong (China) totaling $249 million in the first half of the year, down 4% year-on-year. The US market, however, showed notable improvement, with export earnings climbing 10% to $175 million in the same period.

The industry has set a target of $2 billion in tra fish export revenue for 2025.
