Viettel IDC, VinAI (under the Vingroup), and Qualcomm signed a strategic cooperation agreement on July 4 to research, develop, and promote the supply and application of artificial intelligence (AI) solutions in Vietnam, based on Qualcomm technology.
Viettel IDC will integrate VinAI’s solution based on Qualcomm’s platform into its product and service portfolio to provide AI camera solutions to customers in the near future.
“With many years of experience in providing data center and cloud computing technology services, Viettel IDC has become preferred by customers,” said Mr. Hoang Van Ngoc, CEO of Viettel IDC. “The strategic cooperation with VinAI and Qualcomm is a strategic step for us, demonstrating our role in advancing into new technology areas, especially AI. With this three-party cooperation, between the strengths of Viettel IDC, Qualcomm’s hardware solution equipment, and VinAI’s experienced team of experts, we commit that our customers in Vietnam will benefit from breakthrough solutions at a reasonable cost.”
Viettel IDC will provide AI camera solution services under B2B and B2B2C models based on its experience of providing 27,000 business cameras and storing data for nearly 500,000 household cameras in Vietnam. Customers of Viettel IDC will have the opportunity to access and use AI services at an affordable cost with advanced solutions.
“VinAI is a leading unit in the research and application of AI in Vietnam,” said Mr. Bui Hai Hung, CEO of VinAI. “We have succeeded in developing the most economical AI solution for large-scale systems with thousands of cameras. I hope AI application services can be widely applied in businesses and households in the future”
AI products and services developed by VinAI include software and application technologies running on the cloud computing platform used to process AI features. Its AI models and advanced computer vision technologies are capable of accurately analyzing the image data of 150 camera streams per processor to automatically detect threatening behavior to security and safety in the monitored area.
Qualcomm, meanwhile, has continually invested in AI and officially founded Qualcomm AI Research in 2008 to conduct research and development (R&D) in all aspects of AI. This has enabled Qualcomm to work closely with the AI community to explore other promising areas and applications of machine learning, with the goal of driving innovation to launch AI application technologies.
The cooperation with VinAI and Qualcomm is an important step that demonstrates Viettel IDC’s strategy in promoting cooperation and expanding the service ecosystem to provide optimal experiences and serving the diverse needs of customers towards the “one-stop shop” model.
