The Vinh International Airport in central Nghe An province will be expanded to be able to accommodate 8 million passengers and 25,000 tons of cargo annually by 2030.
This is part of the planning for the airport in 2021-2030 period with a vision to 2050, which has been approved by the Minister of Transport.
Under the planning, the existing terminal T1 will be expanded to accommodate five million passengers annually, while a new terminal, T2, will be built between the two runways, initially designed for three million passengers.
By 2050, the airport’s capacity is expected to increase to 14 million passengers and 35,000 tons of cargo per year.
