Da Nang is to work towards achieving five basic goals in risk management, low-carbon development and sustainable urban transport, digital transformation, the circular economy, and public financial management under an ongoing cooperative program between the central city and the World Bank (WB) to help the former’s economic recovery and sustainable development.
In remarks at a working session with the WB on October 26, Chairman of the Da Nang City People’s Committee Le Trung Chinh thanked it for its attention and active support in recent times and said that cooperation remains on the right track.
WB Country Director for Vietnam, Ms. Carolyn Turk, spoke highly of Da Nang’s effective implementation of the WB’s cooperation and support programs over the past decade.
She believes that the program will also reap the expected results, thereby underpinning Da Nang’s ongoing recovery from Covid-19 and the global turmoil, and paving the way for more inclusive, greener, and digital-friendly development with reforms to help households and businesses and expand renewable energy.
On the occasion, the two sides officially debuted the Da Nang - World Bank Joint Working Group.
