The Vietnam National Innovation Center (NIC) has held the Women’s Innovation Forum 2023 with the theme #WomenleverageWomen.

The forum was organized by the Youth Union of the NIC and chaired by the Youth Union of the Ministry of Planning and Investment to raise awareness about the role of youth, especially women, and young entrepreneurs in innovative startup activities.

It saw the participation of speakers such as experts, CEOs, and startup founders in Vietnam, who shared stories of the entrepreneurial journey to inspire the young generation.

“Building a principled and methodical accounting-financial system is vital for businesses, especially startups,” Mr. Nguyen Huu Quy, a financial expert from State Audit of Vietnam, told the gathering. Clear medium and long-term financial strategies are stepping stones for the strong development of a business into the future.

“Knowledge will be the most powerful weapon we can use and change our lives,” said Ms. Nguyen Phuong Ly, Founder and CEO of Artemis Pastry Shop. Only with a background of knowledge or experience in a certain field will women have more confidence in themselves and in doing whatever they want.

Aware of the hardships women entrepreneurs have faced, the government has introduced many policies and programs over the past few years to support female innovators and entrepreneurs, including in the field of intellectual property.

The Law on Supporting Small and Medium Enterprises stipulates policies to support female entrepreneurs at a higher level than for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in general.

Female entrepreneurs will also be supported 100 per cent or part of the cost of participating in international e-commerce. Many public-private partnership (PPP) initiatives have also been implemented and had a practical impact on the female business community when participating in cross-border e-commerce.
