The WTO will strive to improve the capacity of Vietnamese women entrepreneurs, such as in boosting product quality and gaining access to new markets, according to WTO Director General Ngozi Okonjo Iweala.

Speaking at a meeting with Vietnamese women entrepreneurs during her recent visit to Vietnam, Ms. Ngozi said the WTO will help businesses owned by women develop sustainably.

Vietnam has conducted many reforms over the past two decades and its GDP increased four-fold during the period, she said. Its development was gained from exports of products with contributions from women entrepreneurs.

Director of the Trade Promotion Department at the Ministry of Industry and Trade Vu Ba Phu told the meeting that the department has proactively carried out trade promotion activities for businesses, including those owned by women.
