General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping and his spouse arrived in Hanoi on December 12 to begin their State visit to Vietnam.
The two-day visit is being made at the invitation of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong and his spouse, and the State President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Vo Van Thuong and his spouse.
Politburo Member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh welcomed President Xi and the high-level Chinese delegation at Hanoi’s Noi Bai International Airport.
This is President Xi’s third visit to Vietnam as Chinese General Secretary and President.
The visit takes place on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam - China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership. It holds important significance for relations between the two Parties and States, affirming the importance and priority they place on Vietnam - China relations developing firmly, stably, and sustainably for the benefit of both countries.
