Singapore-based YCH Group and the Tay Ninh Provincial People’s Committee have signed on July 10, 2025 a strategic memorandum of understanding (MoU) to accelerate logistics infrastructure, cross-border e-commerce, and green transition in the province. The agreement is expected to open up new trade opportunities for local businesses and strengthen the Vietnam–Cambodia trade corridor.

The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Nguyen Hong Thanh, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Vice Chairman of Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee, and Dr. Robert Yap, Executive Chairman of YCH Group. The agreement highlights a shared commitment to enhancing Tay Ninh’s logistics capacity, expanding market access for local exporters, building a high-quality workforce, and pursuing sustainable development.

A central component of the partnership is the development of a logistics complex within the Moc Bai Border Gate Economic Zone. Once completed, the facility is expected to serve as a key transshipment hub, easing congestion and enabling smoother flow of goods between the two countries. The complex will also connect with YCH’s logistics hubs across Vietnam and the broader region, forming a seamless cross-border supply chain.

“The cooperation with YCH Group in developing logistics infrastructure, e-commerce, and green transition marks an important milestone in Tay Ninh’s strategy to enhance its competitiveness, especially in the context that the new Tay Ninh province has recently been merged from Tay Ninh and Long An provinces,” said Mr. Nguyen Hong Thanh. “We believe that with YCH Group’s strong capabilities and extensive experience, the partnership will bring about remarkable results, helping to drive Tay Ninh’s growth in a fast and sustainable way.”

YCH Group, which has 70 years of experience providing end-to-end supply chain solutions to global corporations, will take part in the development and operation of the logistics complex. The company plans to apply advanced technological solutions, including artificial intelligence, to optimize cargo management and transport operations. Tay Ninh PPC has committed to supporting legal and administrative procedures to ensure the project proceeds efficiently.

To help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the province access international markets, YCH will facilitate the distribution of Tay Ninh products through its YSG e-commerce platform targeting Singapore and other Asian countries. The provincial authority will implement policies that encourage local businesses to join cross-border digital trade.

“We are honored to collaborate with Tay Ninh PPC in implementing a strategy for developing smart and sustainable logistics infrastructure,” said Dr. Yap Kwong Weng, CEO of Vietnam SuperPort™ and Head of Group Strategy, Sustainability and Communications at YCH Group. “This partnership will not only strengthen the province’s competitiveness but also enhance trade flows between Vietnam and Cambodia, with further expansion to other markets across the region.”

Workforce development is also a priority in the cooperation framework. YCH will introduce specialized training programs with support from its ecosystem partners to equip the local labor force with skills in modern logistics, new technologies, and sustainable business practices.

In line with its sustainability goals, YCH plans to integrate renewable energy, electric vehicles, and carbon credits into its Tay Ninh operations with the aim of reaching net-zero emissions. Tay Ninh PPC will accompany these initiatives with favorable policies and resources to promote green logistics infrastructure.

The MoU signing not only paves the way for expanded international trade opportunities but also signals a shared vision of sustainable development and positions Tay Ninh as a strategic logistics hub in the southern economic zone.
