Yen Bai to develop more IPs and industrial clusters by 2030

Northern Yen Bai province plans to develop four new industrial parks (IPs) and 16 industrial clusters by 2030 under its master planning in the 2021-2030 period with a vision to 2050, which has been approved by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha.

The province will strive to become among the top 5 developed localities in the northern midland and mountainous region by 2050.

It will also target becoming a leading tourism destination in Vietnam’s northwest.

The planning targets GRDP growth of 8.5 per cent annually, of which agriculture, forestry, and fisheries will account for 14.8 per cent, industry and construction 39 per cent, and services 41.5 per cent.

It also focuses on restructuring the agricultural sector towards improving quality, efficiency, and added value and sustainably and effectively developing industry in line with environmental protection. Key industries will be agriculture, forestry, and fisheries processing, mineral exploitation and processing, construction material production, mechanics, electronics, support industries, green energy, renewable energy, and garments and textiles.

Priority will be given to environmentally-friendly projects using high technology.
