Hanoi holding from September 6-8 to be followed by special edition in HCMC from October 4-6.

The International Electronics Exhibition - NEPCON Vietnam 2023 was held from September 6-8 in Hanoi with many practical activities to help electricity businesses increase production, expand markets, and participate in global supply chains.

This year’s exhibition had many special features to celebrate its 15th holding, such as an announcement of a special edition of NEPCON in Ho Chi Minh City (October 4-6), an international business connecting trip to visit the Automotive World China Exhibition in Shenzhen, and a Mascot/Icon Design Competition for the Electronics Industry.

According to reports from the General Statistics Office of Vietnam (GSO), registered FDI in the first seven months of this year has seen healthy growth.

Total FDI as of July 20, including newly-registered capital, adjusted capital, and capital contributions and share purchases by foreign investors, reached $16.24 billion, up 4.5 per cent over the same period last year.

The electronics industry has also made many strides forward as the trend to shifting investment and production creates opportunities for Vietnam to attract FDI in the industry, especially in the field of chip manufacturing. Vietnamese electronics enterprises also have many opportunities to deeply participate in global supply chains, increasing domestic value to contribute more to supply chains.

Mr. Vu Trong Tai, General Manager of organizers RX Tradex, said that 2023 not only marks a promising return after the pandemic with recovery and growth, but was also a milestone 15th holding of NEPCON Vietnam.

“And with the spirit of innovative leaders in the industry, to bring interesting experiences and networking activities for both exhibitors and visitors, this year we are very pleased to announce three programs as special highlights of NEPCON Vietnam, including a special edition of NEPCON in Ho Chi Minh City from October 4 to 6, an international business connecting trip to visit the Automotive Word China Exhibition in Shenzhen, and the first competition to design mascots and/or symbols for Vietnam’s electronics industry, with the rules and regulations of the competition as well as the prizes to be announced at the NEPCON in Ho Chi Minh City, and the competition will run until the middle of next year,” he said.

Ms. Do Thi Thuy Huong, Member of the Executive Committee at the Vietnam Electronic Business Association, said Vietnam’s electronics industry has been changing rapidly, with increasing demand and smooth operations to reduce costs, save energy, and optimize production.

“We believe that NEPCON Vietnam brings opportunities to help businesses share, exchange, and learn from each other to work towards sustainable development as well as stay updated on trends, advanced technology, and smart manufacturing solutions, strengthening the capacity to attract foreign investment and improving skills and standards to participate in global supply chains,” she added.

NEPCON Vietnam 2023 attracted the participation of exhibitors from more than 10 countries and nearly 300 technology and machinery and equipment brands in the fields of electronics, SMT, and welding, with surface products in display areas and online international booths from Japan, the US, South Korea, China, Taiwan (China), Singapore, Thailand, Germany, and India.
