The Mekong Delta’s Ben Tre province has proposed to build a bridge as part of a coastal road linking it with neighboring Tien Giang province.

The provincial authorities have submitted the project’s feasibility study to the Ministry of Planning and Investment for approval.

The Cua Dai bridge will have a total length of 8.9 km and width of 22.5 m.

Total investment capital is estimated at VND4.75 trillion ($186 million).

This will be the third bridge connecting the two localities. The other two bridges are Rach Mieu Bridge, which was put into operation in 2009, and the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge, which is under construction.

These bridges are part of the coastal road connecting Tien Giang, Ben Tre and Tra Vinh provinces.

The 53-km road demands an estimated investment capital of over VND7.9 trillion ($310 million).
