Some 2,500 business regulations have been removed or simplified since 2021 to improve the business and investment environment, according to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.
Ministries have cut or simplified 437 administrative procedures relating to citizens’ paperwork, he told the sixth meeting of the Steering Committee for Administrative Reform held on November 14 via a videoconference linking Vietnam’s 63 cities and provinces.
All 63 localities have completed connections and data sharing between the national population database and the public service portal.
However, the Prime Minister noted that obstacles and shortcomings remain and urged members of the Committee to work closely with ministries, agencies, and localities to complete assigned tasks. Focus should be placed on the reform of institutions, administrative procedures, the State administrative apparatus, the public affairs regime, public finance, and the building and development of an electronic government and digital government.
The goal is to advance administrative reform, improve the business and investment environment, and create the best possible conditions for citizens and businesses, he said.
