Vietnam has posted GDP growth of 8.02 per cent this year, a record high in the 2011-2022 period, according to the General Director of the General Statistics Office (GSO) Nguyen Thi Huong.
At a press conference in Hanoi on December 29, she said the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sector increased 3.36 per cent, contributing 5.11 per cent to total added value in the economy.
Industry and construction grew 7.78 per cent, contributing 38.24 per cent, while the service sector rose 9.99 per cent, making a 56.55 per cent contribution.
Regarding economic structure, the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sector accounted for 11.88 per cent, industry and construction 38.26 per cent, services 41.33 per cent, and product taxes, excluding product subsidies, 8.53 per cent.
GDP per capita was estimated at VND95.6 million ($4,110), a $393 increase against 2021, while workplace productivity was VND188.1 million ($8,083) per worker, a year-on-year rise of $622.
