Vietnam recorded trade turnover of $732.5 billion in 2022, a year-on-year increase of 9.5 per cent, the General Statistics Office (GSO) announced on December 29. This is a new record.
The country saw a trade surplus of an estimated $11.2 billion.
Export revenue is estimated at $371.85 billion, up 10.6 per cent compared to 2021, with $276.76 billion coming from the foreign-invested sector, or 74.4 per cent.
Thirty-six product groups posted export revenue of over $1 billion each, with eight earning over $10 billion each.
The US continued to be Vietnam’s leading export market, with turnover estimated at $109.1 billion.
Meanwhile, Vietnam spent $360.65 billion on imports during the year, a 10 per cent increase against 2021.
