The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) has set a target of earning $55 billion from agriculture, forestry, and fisheries exports in 2024.
Experts have forecast that these exports will recover this year.
Fisheries exports began to grow once more from the end of 2023, posting higher revenue compared with the same period of 2022. Exports of tra fish to markets such as China, Mexico, Canada, Brazil, and the UK exhibited positive signs.
Apart from fisheries, exports of many types of farm produce are also expected to increase strongly this year, such as coffee, rice, fruit and vegetables, and aquaculture shrimp.
Coffee is expected to see record revenue of $4.5-5 billion this year, as prices are at record highs in both the domestic and global markets at present.
Exports of rice and fruit and vegetables are also estimated to reach $5 billion.
The total export revenue of agriculture, forestry, and fisheries products in 2023 stood at $53.01 billion.
