Anh Tú -

Projects include construction of an expressway connecting Bac Kan and Cao Bang provinces in Vietnam’s north.

The Ministry of Transport has said it will earmark around VND6.506 trillion ($271 million) from the mid-term public investment plan in 2021-2025 to invest in transport infrastructure in northern Bac Kan province, including the construction of the Cho Moi - Bac Kan and Bac Kan - Cao Bang Expressways.

The Cho Moi - Bac Kan Expressway will have estimated investment capital of VND5.75 trillion ($239 million), with four lanes allowing for a maximum speed of 80 kph. Certain sections will have a speed limit of 100 kph.

Construction is scheduled to begin this year and be completed in 2026.

The Bac Kan Provincial People’s Committee is also studying investment in building an expressway linking it with neighboring Cao Bang province.

The 90-km expressway will have four lanes and a speed limit of 80-100 kph. The section through Bac Kan is 60 km in length.

The project is expected to be submitted to the government for approval this year.
