Thanh Thủy -

Investment of an estimated $933 million to be mobilized from different resources.

The Bac Lieu Provincial People’s Committee in the Mekong Delta has sent a proposal to the Ministry of Transport on a 58-km expressway project linking three provinces in the region: Bac Lieu, Hau Giang, and Soc Trang, with investment capital of an estimated VND23 trillion ($933 million) to be mobilized from different resources.

The expressway would run between Interchange 7 (IC7) on the Can Tho - Ca Mau section of the Eastern North - South Expressway and the Bac Lieu sea dike, with 7-km, 15-km, and 36-km sections passing through Hau Giang, Soc Trang, and Bac Lieu provinces.

Once completed, the expressway would ease traffic congestion along National Highway No. 1, which runs from the north to the south of the country.
