A new bridge in central Hue city, worth over VND1.85 trillion ($80 million), was open to traffic on March 26.
The Nguyen Hoang bridge, spanning the Huong river, was designed as a steel arch bridge with five spans, stretching 380m long and 43m wide with 10 lanes, including six for cars, two for motorbikes, and two for pedestrians.
The new bridge connects Bui Thi Xuan Street and Kim Long Street.
Under the second phase of the project, a 1-km road connected with the bridge will be built.
The total investment capital of the project is estimated at VND2.28 trillion ($88 million).
The project is expected to contribute to easing traffic congestion and pressure on the National Highway 1A as well as inner-city routes through the center of Hue city.
