Ca Mau Airport in southernmost Ca Mau province will be upgraded to cater to A320 and A321 aircraft by 2030, according to the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV).
Its annual capacity will also increase five-fold to 1 million passengers.

The project is based on a government master plan for the aviation sector’s development to 2025 and vision to 2030.
Construction is scheduled to last 32 months, according to the ACV.
The airport can currently only accommodate ATR 72 and similar aircraft and has an annual capacity of 200,000 passengers.
