The volume of international passengers passing through the country’s airports reached over 27.47 million in the first eight months of the year, soaring 32.4% year-on-year, according to the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV).
The figure brings the total number of air passengers to more than 75.8 million, equivalent to 66.6% of the annual plan and dropping 4.3% year-on-year.
The total amount of take-off and landing flights reached 460,135, accounting for 65.2% of the yearly plan, down 7.9% year-on-year.
Of which, international take-off and landing flights totaled 170,362, surging 22% compared to the same period last year.
In the eight-month period, the airports handled a total volume of cargo of over 995,300 tons, a year-on-year increase of 25.6%.
