Amkor Technology Vietnam Co., Ltd. is set to significantly increase annual production capacity at its factory in Yen Phong II-C Industrial Park, Bac Ninh, from 1.2 billion to 3.6 billion products, as detailed in the company's Environmental Impact Assessment report.

Currently, the factory operates at a capacity of 420 million products (147 tons per year), which accounts for 11.6% of its projected post-expansion stable capacity only.

The factory currently employs over 1,300 workers, including 117 foreign workers. The workforce is expected to grow to 5,700 employees during the stable operation phase.

The factory was officially launched in October 2023, marking Phase 1 of the project, with an investment of $520 million. In a move ahead of schedule, Amkor Technology Group decided in July 2024 to invest an additional $1.07 billion, originally planned for 2035.

The factory is scheduled to undergo expansion in September 2025 and enter stable production from October 2025. This expansion will include the installation of machinery and equipment, plating lines, a pre-treatment module for plating wastewater, and an exhaust gas treatment system for the plating lines.

Amkor Technology Group envisions developing the Bac Ninh factory into the largest and most advanced semiconductor chip manufacturing center within its global assembly and testing network.
