The Directorate for Roads of Vietnam has proposed applying no-stop automated toll collections at Noi Bai and Tan Son Nhat International Airports in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in a bid to prevent traffic congestion.

Manual fee collections at airports often lead to traffic jams, triggering much concern among drivers and passengers, according to the Directorate for Roads of Vietnam.

Meanwhile, a no-stop automated toll booth has been installed at Tan Son Nhat International Airport and is ready to be put into operation for the pilot.

The plan is also expected to effectively make use of investments into no-stop automated toll collections while also serving as a foundation for evaluation and perfecting the legal framework.

It will be piloted at Noi Bai and Tan Son Nhat airports for six months. If successful, it will be applied at other airports.
