Ánh Tuyết -

Southern province to become one of the top 5 coastal localities in economic development.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha has signed Decision No. 1629/QD-TTg approving southern Ba Ria-Vung Tau province’s planning in the 2021-2030 period and vision to 2050.

The new plan sets a goal of turning the province into one of the top 5 coastal economic development localities and one of ten localities with the largest GRDP and highest State budget collections in the country.

To achieve these targets, it will develop three key economic axes linked to the Cai Mep - Thi Vai Seaport, expressways, and ring roads.

First, the industrial and Cai Mep - Thi Vai seaport economic axis in connection with the inter-port transportation system and National Highway No. 51, focusing on developing a system of national special seaports that serve as gateway ports and international transshipment centers.

Second, the industrial - logistics economic axis along Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway and Ho Chi Minh City’s Ring Road No 4, which aims to develop a large-scale industrial-service-urban complex in the new Phu My city.

Third, the coastal tourism economic axis along Provincial Road No. 994 and the road connecting to Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway with a system of coastal tourism urban areas, such as Vung Tau, Long Hai, Phuoc Hai, Ho Tram and Binh Chau, and tourism complexes based on natural coastal and forestry resources.
