Its first resumed international flights will connect Ho Chi Minh City to Bangkok.

Bamboo Airways has announced it will officially resume international flights on November 26, launching daily round-trip service on the direct route between Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City and Don Mueang International Airport in Bangkok, Thailand.

The service will operate one round trip per day, with departures scheduled at 11:15 AM (local time) from Tan Son Nhat airport and returns at 14:00 PM from Don Mueang.

This development will mark the airline's return to its international flight network after a period focusing  solely on domestic routes.

Mr. Luong Hoai Nam, General Director of the Bamboo Airways, stated that the resumption of international flights signifies a significant milestone for the airline as it re-establishes its regular international flight network after a year-long suspension focusing on restructuring. He emphasized that this development is a strong indication of the carrier's positive recovery and aligns with its strategic roadmap.

Its daily flights connecting the  two major economic hubs are anticipated to provide convenient travel options for passengers, particularly during the upcoming peak holiday season.

The airline had previously operated flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Bangkok since April 2022 and from Hanoi to Bangkok since March 2023. However, these earlier flights utilized the larger Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok.

Thailand has been chosen as the first international destination in Southeast Asia for the airline’s renewed services. The country has long been a favored international destination for many Vietnamese travelers, with over 1 million visitors from Vietnam in 2023 alone, particularly during weekends and holidays for entertainment and shopping. Vietnam ranks among the top 10 countries in terms of tourists visiting Thailand.

Conversely, Vietnam is also one of the top three destinations for Thai tourists in 2023, who had traveled to popular tourist sites, including Da Lat, Nha Trang, Sapa, Hanoi, and Da Nang.

At the end of October 2023, Bamboo Airways announced the temporary suspension of several international flights and downsized its fleet from the third quarter of that year, Including routes to the UK, South Korea, Japan, Germany, Singapore, and Thailand.
