The Binh Dinh Provincial People’s Committee has agreed with a plan to cease the operations of the Casa Marina Island Beach Tourism Project on Ngang Islet in the south-central province’s Ghenh Giang district.
Covering a total area of 41.3 ha with investment of VND200 billion ($8.4 million), the project will come to an end seven years after being approved.
The decision was made based on a proposal from the investor, the Truong Thanh Island Investment Joint Stock Co., to cancel the project.
The Ministry of Planning and Investment’s inspectorate issued a conclusion last February indicating wrongdoings at the project.
To ensure the legal foundation for re-selecting investors to carry out a project on this area, the People’s Committee assigned the Department of Planning and Investment to carry out related procedures and the Department of Construction to review and outline a detailed plan for submission to relevant authorities for approval.
