According to a report presented at a conference on December 9 by the Ministry of Industry and Trade on promoting import-export activities in provinces bordering China, trade turnover through border gates on land stood at $34.57 billion in the first ten months of this year, a year-on-year increase of 87.3 per cent.
Vietnam has seven provinces bordering China’s Yunnan province and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
Border trade has made important contributions to socio-economic development in border localities in both countries and especially to two-way trade between Vietnam and China, which reached $155.58 billion in the January - November period, down 4 per cent compared to the same period last year.
Two-way trade in 2022 stood at $175.569 billion, accounting for 24 per cent of Vietnam’s total trade turnover.
