Bridge construction along Mekong Delta coastal road to begin in Q2

Construction of Ba Lai 8 Bridge, part of a coastal road project in the Mekong Delta, is scheduled to get underway in the second quarter of this year, according to the Ben Tre Provincial People’s Committee.

Total investment is estimated at over VND2.25 trillion ($91.8 million).

The bridge will span the Ba Lai River in Ben Tre at a total length of over 536 meters and a width of 22.5 meters.

The 53-km coastal road, meanwhile, will link Ben Tre with the two neighboring provinces of Tien Giang and Tra Vinh.

The project was approved by the Prime Minister as part of the road network master plan for 2021-2030 period with a vision to 2050, and is part of a coastal corridor project in the Mekong Delta region.
