Under Prime Ministerial Decision No. 1356/QD-TTg, signed by Prime Minister Le Minh Hung on July 22, the Central Steering Committee for the national target program on drug prevention and control till 2030 has been set up.
The committee is headed by Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra, who will be assisted by Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang as deputy head.
The committee is responsible for advising the Prime Minister on strategic directions and policy measures for directing and administering key issues related to the management and implementation of the national target program, according to the Government News.
It also assists the Prime Minister in directing, managing, and coordinating activities among ministries, central agencies, and local authorities in implementing the program.
It is responsible for overseeing and urging ministries, central agencies, and local governments to review and evaluate the program's implementation results, as well as developing the implementation plan for the 2026–2030 period.
