Many businesses in Vietnam’s north are in need of a large number of employees, with many positions coming with an average monthly salary of VND10-15 million ($418-627).
The staffing demand was revealed at a virtual job transaction session held on March 9 by employment service centers in Hanoi and nearby Thai Nguyen, Bac Ninh, Bac Giang, Ninh Binh, and Bac Kan provinces.
The session aimed to help companies find the necessary workers and also provide information on the labor market to workers, students, trainees, and employers in the localities, according to Deputy Director of the Hanoi Employment Service Center Vu Quang Thanh.
It connected jobseekers with 75 businesses looking to fill around 11,000 positions.
Bac Ninh and Bac Giang provinces had the largest number of positions, with nearly 30,000 each, followed by Ninh Binh with 2,472. Businesses in Hanoi sought over 1,500 workers.
Fields with major demand include garments and textiles, trade and services, production, hospitality, and supermarkets.
Job opportunities are focused mainly on the 18-25 age group.
