Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has urged ministries, sectors, and contractors to accelerate the construction of Terminal 3 (T3) at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City for completion before April 30, 2025, to mark the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day.

He made the direction while visiting the construction site on February 12, the Government News reported.

This is the fourth time the government leader has inspected construction, which began last December.

It is being implemented by Airports Corporation of Vietnam at a cost of nearly VND11 trillion ($448 million).

T3 terminal is designed to handle domestic flights and welcome up to 20 million passengers a year.

The Prime Minister also instructed city authorities and relevant parties to join hands to smoothly roll out the construction of supporting facilities, including transport links with nearby areas and the under-construction Long Thanh International Airport in neighboring Dong Nai province.
