Construction of the second phase of a social housing project in central Thua Thien-Hue province kicked off on July 17.
The project, covering nearly 3.5 hectares in the city of Hue, will supply 1,083 units.
Total investment is estimated at over VND600 billion ($25.3 million).
Construction is scheduled for completion by 2025.
Speaking at the breaking ground ceremony, provincial authorities said this is among the social housing projects being invested in by the province to implement the government’s master plan on building a million social houses for low income earners and workers at industrial parks in the 2021-2030 period.
The province is estimated to need some 10,000 social houses by 2030.
Local authorities are calling for investment from different sources to build more housing to meet rising demand from low-income earners.
