Construction of Ring Road No. 4 in the Hanoi capital region kicked off on June 25.

Ring Road No. 4 will stretch 112.8 km and pass through Hanoi and Hung Yen and Bac Ninh provinces.

Total investment is estimated at VND86 trillion ($3.62 billion).

Once opened to traffic in early 2027, it is expected to improve connectivity between Hanoi and northern provinces and support socio-economic development in the entire northern region, with Hanoi being the main driver of growth.

Speaking at the breaking ground ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said the Party and State have identified the development of strategic infrastructure, including transport infrastructure, as one of three strategic breakthroughs in socio-economic development.

Vietnam targets having 3,000 km of expressways in the 2021-2025 period, according to the government leader.
