Construction of multi-purpose port in Ninh Binh gets underway

Construction of the Dua Fat Kim Son multi-purpose port in the Kim Son marine economic belt planning area in northern Ninh Binh province began on March 26. The port sits on nearly 173,000 sq m and has total investment of VND450 billion ($19.7 million). It will be capable of berthing ships of 10,000 tons, with a capacity of loading and unloading 3 million tons of goods annually and providing logistics services for 1 million tons a year. It is expected that the first phase of the project will be put into operation in the third quarter.
