A ceremony was held on December 24 to kick off construction of a road between Hoang Sa and Doc Soi in central Quang Ngai province.

The ceremony was attended by State President Vo Van Thuong and provincial authorities.

At a total length of 26.88 km, the road passes through eleven communes and towns in Quang Ngai city and Binh Son and Son Tinh districts.

Total investment is estimated at VND3.5 trillion ($145 million), of which construction is to cost VND2.352 trillion ($98 million) and site clearance and compensation VND700 billion ($29.1 million).

Nine bridges will be built along the road.

Once completed, it will contribute to completing the province’s road network in accordance with approved planning, forming an important transport axis connecting Chu Lai Airport and Dung Quat Economic Zone with Quang Ngai city and localities to the south.
