Construction of a fourth bridge spanning the Saigon River in Ho Chi Minh City to Thu Thiem Peninsula is scheduled to begin in 2025, according to the project’s feasibility study.
The city’s Department of Transport has submitted the feasibility study to the Ho Chi Minh City Assessment Council for consideration.
Thu Thiem Bridge 4 will be built in the build-operate-transfer (BOT) form with total estimated investment capital of over VND6 trillion ($250 million).
It will be some 2.1 km long and 28 meters wide, with six lanes and a speed limit of 60 kph.
It will link the Thu Thiem new urban area, District 7, and Thu Duc city.
Construction is expected to be completed by 2028.
The Department plans to submit the project’s investment policy to the city’s People’s Council for approval in the first quarter of 2024.
