The selection of contractors for Ho Chi Minh City’s Ring Road No. 3 project is expected to be completed before December, according to the Ministry of Transport (MoT).
As of the end of September, contractors for nine of the 26 contract packages had been chosen.
The project requires 654 ha of land, with site clearance now having reached 82 per cent.
Ring Road No. 3 will pass through Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai, Binh Duong, and Long An provinces at a total length of more than 76 km.
Construction will cost over VND75 trillion ($3.21 billion) and be completed in 2025, and the road is expected to open to traffic from 2026.
Over VND16.3 trillion ($679 million) has been disbursed, equivalent to 51 per cent of total capital allocated for 2023, which is estimated at over VND32 trillion ($1.3 billion).
