The Da Nang City People’s Committee held a ceremony on November 25 to kick off a project to upgrade a section of National Highway No. 14B running through the central city with total investment capital of VND788 billion ($32.8 million).
The section, with a total length of 7.58 km, runs between Hoa Nhon commune and Hoa Khuong commune.
It will be upgraded to six lanes with a roadbed width of 34 meters, allowing a maximum speed of 80 kph.
The project received approval from the Ministry of Transport on December 27, 2022, and construction is scheduled until 2025.
Addressing the ceremony, Chairman of the city’s People’s Committee Le Trung Chinh said the project will help complete road transport infrastructure network in the city and the country as a whole.
The project is expected to help connect transport axis to the west of the Ho Chi Minh Highway with North-South expressways as well as the East-West Economic Corridor No. 2, contributing to promoting socio-economic development in localities along the route.
