Da Nang city posts positive economic growth in 9M

Central Da Nang city gained positive economic growth in the first nine months of the year with tourism and services remaining one of bright spots.

The city welcomed 8.7 million tourists in the period, a year-on-year increase of 33.3%. Of which, there were 3.2 million foreign tourists, up 30.6% year-on-year, and 5.5 domestic visitors, up 34.9%. With this achievement, Da Nang fulfilled the yearly target in the number of tourists, three months ahead of schedule.

Total tourism revenue was estimated at over VND20.6 trillion ($823 million), soaring 23% compared to the same period last year.

In the nine-month period, total retail sales of consumer goods and services of the city reached over VND103 trillion (over $4.1 billion), up 14.9% year-on-year.

Regarding disbursement of public investment capital, the city disbursed more than VND4.6 trillion ($183 million), equal to 54.32% of the assigned target.

The city registered a GRDP growth of 6.47% in the Jan-Sept period, ranking the 7th among the country’s 63 provinces and cities and the first in the south-central coastal region.
