The People’s Committee of central Da Nang city has proposed the Ministry of Transport to relocate the Da Nang Railway Station out of the city center.

The project will consist of two phases, according to the feasibility study report.

In the first phase, the city will build a new railway station in Lien Chieu district for the relocation of the Da Nang Railway Station. It will cover 3,000 sq m and has 10 storeys. A square and a park for the new railway station will also be built, covering 14,000 sq m.

Total investment capital for the first phase is estimated at VND2.29 trillion ($90.5 million), including VND780 billion ($30.8 million) worth of site clearance.

The first phase is scheduled for implementation from 2024 to 2030.

In the second phase, the railway station will be removed and a new passenger terminal will be built in Hoa Vang district. It requires an investment capital of over VND3.81 trillion ($150 million).
