Central Da Nang city has risen two places from its 2025 ranking to sixth among Asian cities with the highest rate of returning international visitors in the first half of 2026, according to data from online travel platform Agoda.
The ranking, released by Agoda on September 8, 2026, was based on booking data recorded on the platform during the first six months of the year. Da Nang outperformed several well-known destinations, including Kuala Lumpur, Fukuoka, Taipei and Johor Bahru.
Vietnam also ranked among the top three Asian destinations with the highest proportion of repeat international visitors, behind only Japan and Thailand, Agoda reported.
Da Nang recorded the highest rate of returning international visitors among Vietnamese destinations during the six-month period, outperforming other major tourism hubs including Ho Chi Minh City, Nha Trang, Hanoi and Phu Quoc.
The strong repeat-visitor rate highlights Da Nang’s growing appeal among international travellers and reinforces its position as one of Vietnam’s leading tourism destinations. The result also indicates strong potential for the city to retain international visitors and encourage repeat travel through continued improvements in tourism products and services.
