A Malaysian travel delegation paid a visit to Da Nang city in central Vietnam from October 26–30, on the occasion of Vietjet Air’s launch of a new direct flight route between Kuala Lumpur and Da Nang.
This occasion offers businesses from both sides an opportunity to engage in direct exchanges, seek partnerships, and expand their tourism markets.
The Malaysian delegation includes 22 representatives from leading and reputable travel companies, marking an important step toward strengthening tourism cooperation and connectivity between Da Nang and Kuala Lumpur.
In particular, to strengthen connectivity and cooperation, on the evening of October 27, the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism hosted a “Welcome Dinner – Networking Event” between the Malaysian delegation and local tourism businesses.
The event serves as an opportunity to showcase Da Nang’s tourism potential and signature products, while fostering the development of joint tour packages between the two markets.
Earlier, in August, a program for promotion of central Vietnam's tourism was held in Kuala Lumpur, and then, from October 17–21, a Malaysian travel delegation also visited Da Nang to explore the central city's tourism potential.
Malaysia currently ranks among Da Nang’s top 10 international tourist markets, with nearly 174,900 visitors recorded in the first nine months of 2025, an increase of more than 24 per cent compared to the same period in 2024. The figure underscores the growing appeal of Da Nang as a destination for Malaysian travelers.
(Currently, the Kuala Lumpur – Da Nang route is operated by AirAsia, Batik Air Malaysia, and Malaysia Airlines. With Vietjet Air officially launching its new direct flight on October 26, 2025, the total number of weekly flights has increased to 42, further strengthening two-way connectivity and passenger exchanges, while offering travelers more convenient options between the two destinations.
(With a comprehensive promotional campaign and the advantage of direct air connectivity, Da Nang is affirming its position as one of the most attractive destinations for Malaysian tourists. At the same time, the city is expanding international cooperation opportunities, moving toward the goal of sustainable tourism development in this new phase.
